Holy Baptism

“We believe in one baptism, for the forgiveness of sin…”

In the Anglican tradition, baptism is one of the two Sacraments instituted by Christ himself during his earthly ministry, and is the necessary first step in becoming a Christian. Through Baptism, a person becomes a part of the body of Christ, the Church.

At Saint James’ Church, the parents and godparents of candidates are required to attend a pre-baptismal orientation with the clergy. Adult candidates are required to complete appropriate instruction.

Baptisms take place at the 10am Sunday Eucharist, and are reserved for the following dates:
