Marriage at Saint James’

…The bond and covenant of marriage was established by God in creation, and our Lord Jesus Christ adorned this manner of life by his presence and first miracle at a wedding in Cana of Galilee. It signifies to us the mystery of the union between Christ and his Church, and Holy Scripture commends it to be honored among all people.

Holy Matrimony is the Sacrament by which God’s grace is given to husband and wife, helping them to lead a holy life and to bring up their children in the Christian faith and life. Marriages are celebrated at any time of the year other than during Advent or Lent.

Sixty days prior written notice to the Parish Office is required.

In cases of a previous marriage which has ended in civil divorce, 90 days notice and permission of the Bishop for remarriage is required.
